FAQ Personal Matters
How does the whole process work if I get you to check out my partner?
Initial contact will be either by email or phone 0410 251 207. After the initial discussion your investigator will either meet with you in person or speak to you via phone to decide on a plan of action. The plan will depend upon each individual circumstance. In general there will be a period of surveillance and intelligence gathering and a final written report supported by video or photographic evidence if appropriate. At each step you will be kept up to date with regular verbal reports. You will need to sign an Investigation Agreement.
Why do I need to sign an Investigation Agreement?
An Investigation Agreement is for your protection and ours. Private Investigators need to uphold certain standards and ensure that they have proper terms for engagement. The person seeking the information must be bona fide in their request for the investigation of another party this is to protect everyone involved.
Will my partner find out they are being investigated?
The objective of the Private Investigator is to get the information as quickly and discretely as possible. We understand that knowing the truth and knowing it quickly is really important to our clients. We also understand that circumstances at home can become difficult if your partner finds out you have engaged someone to investigate them. We therefore work with utmost confidentiality, discretion and privacy for all concerned reducing the chances of the investigation becoming known to any other parties.
How do you charge?
We charge an hourly rate plus expenses. It is difficult to estimate how long each investigation will take to get the hard evidence those being investigated are rarely brazen about their activities. It may take as little an hour to get the evidence, or it may take several attempts to catch them out on camera. You will have regular updates and will be able to monitor not only the progress but costs as well.
Could I do the surveillance work myself or get a friend to do it?
There are two potential issues with this. Firstly, the person you are likely trying to catch on camera, may notice you or a friend of yours, and therefore blow the whole surveillance. This could make the task even harder when you do engage a Private Investigator.
Secondly, since your friend is not licenced they may be breaching several laws in Australia and so you could be inadvertently putting them at risk of prosecution.
The fastest way to get results in surveillance is when the suspect has no idea they might have been found out, they are more likely to show themselves publicly best not to risk alerting them to your suspicions, call 0410 251 207 or email now and clear up the matter quickly and discretely.
Do you need a licence to be a Private Investigator?
Yes, you do need a licence. Each state in Australia has its own authority that issues licences to Private Investigators. The licencing authority regulates the industry to ensure that standards are upheld and investigations are carried out without abusing the privacy of others or unlawfully. You should always check that a Private Investigator is licenced. For more information regarding Private Investigator licences visit the Office of Fair Trading www.fairtrading.qld.gov.au
